WELLINGTON PONY AND GALLOWAY RACING CLUB. NOMINATIONS FOR EASTER MEETING. Nominations for all events to be run at Miramur on Easter Saturday and Monday close with the secretary, Mr P. P. Bigwooud, Customhouse Quay, Wellington, at 9 o'clock tonight.
In commenting on the announcement of a 40-day meeting at Fort Erie this summer, a Toronto paper remarks that continuous racing or protracted fixtures like this have injured the turf in Canada, and in many sections of the country aroused ao much hostility that legal enactment closed the tracks. If a law was ever needed to limit racing in this country it should be on the Statute Books now. And it is announced that a Bill will be introduced at the next session of the Ontario Legislature to limit race meetings in Ontario to 15 days.
