WAIRARAPA RUGBY UNION.
ANNUAL MEETING. (Special Reporter.) The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Rugby Union was held at Carterton on Saturday evening. The following were present: —Messrs A. B. Charters, A. Webster, A. B. Balfour (Greytown), B. Chapman, J. Lyall, J. Langley (Masterton), J. Duggan, J. Adams, D. Beere (Red Star). J. Nicholls, C. Reid, Groube (Carterton), August (Te Ore Ore), Stanton, Playle (Dalefield), J. Edwards E. McKenzie (Wairarapa Thursday Union), C. J. Beard (treasurer). The following officers were elected: —Patron, Mr W. C. Buchanan; President, Mr W. P. James; VicePresidenta, Messrs J. McMaster, W. E. Bidwill, W. Strang, W. M. Halley, Dean McKenna; Management Committee, Messrs A. B. Charters, J. Duggan, B. Chapman, E. McKenzie, A. B. Balfour, 'J. M. Nicholls, J. Lyall; Appeal Committee, Messrs J. Cochrane, H. Booth, S. JNicholls; Senior Selection Committee, Messrs E. McKenzie, A. B. Charters, L. Williams; Junior Selection Committee, Messrs J. M. Nicholls, B. Iveson, J. Brunton; Secretary, Mr A. L. Webster; Treasurer, Mr C. J. Beard; Delegates to the New Zealand Rugby Union, Messrs A. B. Charters and D. K. Logan (Mr D. E. Parton also if a third delegate is required). The following Clubs entered teams for the competitions :—Masterton (senior and junior), Red Star (senior and junior)', Carterton (senior and junior), Greytown (senior and junior), Te Ore Ore (senior), Dalefield (junior). • It was decided to recommend to the Management Committee that the senior representative team this season tour the South Island, as far as InvercargiJl. It was resolved that the championship fixtures should commence on April 25th. On the motion of Mr Webster, seconded by Mr Chapman, it was decided to pay half the amount of drag fares of junior players in Cup matches.
The Dalefield Club notified that their colours would be black with yellow sash. The Te Ore Ore intimated that they would play in green and white jerseys. It was resolved to recommend the Management Committee to arrange a match with the Bush Union for May 16th. After some discussion, it was decided to ask the New Zealand Rugby Union to allow the Union half the gate money in connection with the match to be played at Masterton against the English team.
It was decided to vote five guineas to the secretary for his services during the past year.
