LABOUR FOR THE RAND.
AN EXPERIMENT. Received April 5, 4.16 p.m. LONDON, April 4. The employers on the Rand have offered as an experiment to take 400 unemployed whites for unskilled labour above or below surface. Some men have been offered 4s per day, and others 3s, until they are efficient enough to undertake piecework-. The majority of the men who have been offeredwork decline to accept the terms.
