GRAIN REPORT.
Mr P. Pownall, of the New Zealand and Canterbury Farmers' Cooperative Associations, Wellington, reports as follows, all quotations being f.0.b., port'of shipment, sacks free, unless specified:—Oats—Grain stores show signs of accumulation, with vendors above buyers limits. Melbourne and SydViey are drawing small quantities suitable for milling, with further enquiries for feed. An opening in that quarter will strengthen present costs, B grade. Danish and Gar'.ons ruling at 2s 5Jd, Sparrowbills 2s 6d, Duns 2s 7d. Wheat—The Argentine, with phenominal season, is flooding Home market, with weakening effect, and checking advance in Commonwealth and dominion. Flour has risen locally, and wheat will follow slightly. Milling is firm at 4s 8d; fowl feed 4s 7d. Potatoes—Qualities offering are excellent, and South Island and crops abundaiit. Whites are worth £5. Red keepers £5 ss. Tasmanians same money, but delivery regulations are proving restrictive. Maize — Small enquiry at 4s 7d. Barley - Demand slackening. Malting ss, feed 3s 9d, Cape 3s 9d. Peas- - Partridge active 4s 3i. whites 6s, split £ls 10s. Bran—ln good request at £5 ss. Pollard—Nominally M 10s, with no stocks. Oatmeal— 25's stationary at £l3. Rolled oats £lB. Oatina 10s 6d. Chaff—South are unloading northwards at 92s 6d si, with heavy supply available. Weather interference in cutting will see advance shortly. Straw chaff 55s se.
