HOCKEY.
The Carterton Hockey Club held a very successful practice on Carrington Park, yesterday afternoon, and some good form was shown. At the annual meeting of the Hinemou Hockey Club, Carterton, held on Wednesday evening, the following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, Mr W. C. Buchanan; President, Mr J. T. M. Hornsby, M.P.; Vice-Presidents, Messrs G. A. Fairbrother, J. M. Lighti'oot, J. Baillie, W. Moure, H. E. Jackson, Rev. L. Thompson, M. A.; Capcain, Miss Fisher; Secretary and Treasurer, Miss E. Lindop; Match Committee, Misses Fisher (2), Lindop, Meenken and Pull. The season will Lie opened on April 9th.
