FOOTBALL.
Information has been received by a local resident that E. Wrigley, of Masterton, who is a member of the New Zealand Rugby professional team, had been offered £4OO and £2 10s per week to play for the Huddersfield Club, but had refused the olfer. He was also offered and refused £2O to play one match for the Rochdale Club.
A meeting of the Red Star juniors will be held in the Y.M.C.A. rooms, on Saturday evening, at 8 o'clock. All members and intending members are requested to bo present. The Carterton team to play Masterton, at Masterton, next Saturday, will be selected from the following:— P. Groube, S. Mason, Keddell, Thompson, C Groube, Henderson, W. Hall, F. Johnson, Callister, Levick, Brown, McKenzie (2), E. Mason, Bond, Stove, Blake (3). The following team will represent Masterton:— P. Thompson, W. Minett, J. O'Leary, W. Darvill, Winter, D. K. Logan, A. Gray, A. H. Daniell, B. Chapman, P. Barry, T. Brench]ey, J. P. Lyall, M. PiWdeville, R. H. Spackman, A. Ross. Emergency —Phillips. The junior members of the Mastert:>n Club are requested to attend practice in view of their corning .matches.
