INQUESTS AT CHRISTCHURCH.
CHRISTCHURCH, April 1. The circumstances surrounding the' death of Sidney Cadle, stock auction--1 eer, for Dalgety and Co., succumbed to injuries received by being run over by a tramway locomotive last night, were investigated' at an inquest this afternoon. Wm. Dick, a tram inspectjr, stated that
he saw the deceased run in front of the approaching engine. Witness was about ten yards away, and shouted, but the deceased did r.ot appear to take any notice. Other witnesses said the deceased when crussing seemed to change his mind and hesitate. He was knocked down, the tram pulling up at the time. A verdict of accidental death was returned. An inquest was held touching the death of John Templeton, who was killed through being run over by a gig in Oxford Terrace on Monday. Contradictory evidence was givera relative to the position of the gig at the time of the accident. A verdict was returned that Templeton met hi& death through injuries received as the result of being run over by a gigdriven on the wrong side of the road. A rider was added that Whiltrock, the driver of the gig, when in that position did all he could to avert, an accident.
