THE ENGINEERS' STRIKE.
A NOTIFICATION. Received March 30, 9-55 p.m. LONDON, March 30. The federated employers notify that all shipyards on the tiorth-east coast, and at Barrow and Clyde will be closed unless the strikers' accept a reduction of 8d iri wages within a month. The strikers intend to take a. fresh ballot in regard to the terms of settlement offered by the eWi|>loyers. iiitu ani At a ballot about a fortnight ago the engineers, by 4,358 votes to 3,693, rejected the settlement proposed by Mr Lloyd George (President of the Board of Trade), and decided to resist the reduction in wagep and also the reference of the dispute to arbitration;.
