The Canadian Pacific Railway Company is building two new larger and faster Atlantic steamers of the Empress class, and is establishing a weekly service. The Archbishop of Brisbane, speaking at Veybridge, declared that the church needed power to govern herself. When the laity possessed the power they ought to have, and a definite legislative body existed whose decision the Bishop and churchwardens would respect, there would be efficiency in administration.
