AUCKLAND, March 26. The Premier, in answer to a deputation of fruitgrowers, said he recognised the importance of excluding dangerous pests. As far as the Government was concerned it would not allow any risk to ba run. If the present restrictions were not 'sufficient they'were prepared to go further in the direction of the exclusion of infected fruit. As to the request that the fruit industry should have a representative in the Legislative Council, the Premier said he could give no, promise, buc he would ( give the representations consideration.
