WORLD'S PICTURES COMPANY
The World's Pictures and Vaudeville Company opened their season in the Masterton Town Hall, last evening, when notwithstanding the wet weather there was a good house. The programme submitted pleased the audience, who were unstinted in their applause. A large number pf excellent pictures were shown, the best of which were "A Country Paperchase," "The Detective," "Falls of the Rhine," "The Hooligans," "Unexpected Wealth," and "Ojr New Errand Boy." Mr George Sheffield's comic songs were vociferously applauded, and he was encored twice. Mr Carl Hurman, performed a numher of card and other tricks very neatly His best effort was the "Vanishing Lamp," Monk Bros', playing on various instruments brought forth warm applause from the audience, and the performers were repeatedly called. Mr Charles Blake sang an illustrated son? in excellent style. Mr Blake has a fine baritone voice, which he uses to the best effect. The audience were not slow to appreciate this, and loudly applauded the singer. The Company will conclude their Masterton season in the Town Hall this evening.
