DEMONSTRATION AGAINST JAPANESE.
OVER RELEASE OP TATSU MARUReceived March 23, 10.58 p.m. CANTON, March 23. In connection with the release of i the steamer '"atsu Maru, 50,000 Chinese demonstrated at Canton and burnea their Japanese garments. They recummended a boycott of Japanese goods, and also the impeachment of Yuan-Shin Kai, a member of the Wai-wu-pu or Board of Foreign Affairs. Many buildings are draped in mourning. The Tatsu Maru, a Japanese steamer, was seized last month at the instance of the Chinese Customs officials, it being alleged that the gteamer was landing arms for the rebels under Sun-Yat-Sen. China afterwards apologised for hauling Jcwn the flag of the Tatsu Maru. She saluted the flag and restored the vessel.
