ACCIDENT. TO A SUBMARINE.
A MIRACULOUS ESCAPE. Received March 23, 8.52 a m. PARIS, March 22. Owing to the misunderstanding of an order, the French submarine Ventor, while manoeuvring at Cherbourg, suddenly plunged and struck the rocks at a depth of ten fathoms. The vessel's hull was extensively damaged, and her propellers rendered useless. The coolness displayed by the captain and crew enabled them to make a miraculous escape.
