PERSONAL.
Mr W. 0. Smith has been appointed postmaster at Ihuraua. The death is reported of Mrs J. Bicknell, mother of Mr A. C. Bicknell, formerly Mayor of Greytown. An old settler in the person of Mrs Catherine Flaws, relict of the late Mr Jamts Flaws, of Kaiwarra, died at the residence of her son, Mr James Flaws, at Kaiwarra, on Saturday morning. The deceased lady was born in the Shetland Islands, and came to New Zealand with her husband and family in the ship ,;Soukar in 1874. She leaves three daughters—Mr? P. Joseph, Kaiwarra, Mrs J. W. Carswell, Bridge Creek, Masterton, and Mrs B. ..,• Lynneberg, Kaiwarra, and five sons, Messrs James, Thomas, Robert, George, and John.
