METEOROLOGICAL.
At 9 a.m. yesterday, Captain Edwin issued the following forecast for \he subsequent 24 hours:—' Wind.---Southerly, moderate to strong in all parts of the dominion, but changing to westerly ; strong to gale after from 12 to 20 hours from thence southwards. Barometer.—Rise at all places north of Napier and New Plymouth; fall soon everywhere else. Rain is to be expected generally. Warning signal for northerly gale is exhibited at Capes Farewell, Foulwind. Campbell, and Nugget Po.int, and for westerly gale at East Cape.
Mr J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfall registered at Upper Plain for the 24 hours up to 9 a.m., on Thursday was 36 points.
