At Greytown, on Saturday, Mr T. J. Bridgewater, of Greytown, was married to Miss Alice Jones, of Woolomba (New youth Wales).

Inspector Ellison, of the Police Department-, was in Masterton a few hours yesterday on an official visit.

On Monday last Mr George Reynolds, an old resident of Featherdton, celebrated his 80th birthday, and was made the recipient of a presentation from his friends to commemorate the occasion.

The Rev. Prebendary H. W. Moss, head master of Shrewsbury School, England, contemplates resigning, after holding the position for more than 41 years. Shrewsbury ha 3 had only three headmasters since 1798.

At Trinity Methodist Church, Newtown, on Wednesday, Mr Herbert Clarke, son of Mr F. Clarke, of Cour-tenaj-nlace, Wellington, was married to Miss Myrtle Chinchen, third daughter of Mr R. Chinchen, of Ade-laide-road, Newtown, and well-known in Masterton. The bridesmaids were Misses Gladys and Phyllis Chinchen, Miss Clarke, and Miss Hilda Williams. Mr Hodge acted as best man, and Mr F. Clarke as groomsman. At St. John's Cathedral, Napier, on Wednesday, by the Rev. Canon Mayne, Mr Arthur William Russell, second son of Mr S. J. Russell, of Masterton, was married to Miss Barbara Ann Gillespie, second daughter of Mr George Gillespie, of Purekiroki, Ownka, South Island. The bride was dressed in a pale blue China silk, and wore the orthodox wreath of orange blossom and veil. The skirt, which hunff very full, was trimmed with three folds of the material, finished with true lovers' knots at each side of the front panel; the bodice was trimmed with white knotted net lace and insertion, and prettily finished off with white and gold medallions and blue silk French knots. Miss Flossie Thorn, of Glenfalloch, was bridesmaid. Mr Thumss Gillespie gave the bride away, and Mr A. Kemp was groomsman.
