TECHNICAL SCHOOL.
The class in commercial work commenced at the Technical School last evening under Mr C. N. Haslam, who has been appointed to succeed Mr S. E. Wright as instructor in bookkeeping. The class Was well supported, there being eighteen pupils present. The dressmaking class, under Miss M. Johnston, also met for the first time this year, and also received encouraging support. This class will, until the new building is erected, meet in ■ one of the rooms at the workshop in Dixon Street. The classes meeting this (Wednesday) evening are:—Light and shade, Mr Irvine; building construction and architectural drawing, Mr Lamb (workshop); woodworking, Mr Ashton (workshop); shorthand, Pitman's, Miss Butement.
