METEOROLOGICAL.
At 9 a.m. yesterday, Captain Edwin issued the following forecast for the subsequent 24 hours : Wind Northerly; moderate to strong at all places northward of East Cape, Taupo, and New Plymouth, but westward thence to Napier; westerly, strong to gale generally elsewhere. Barometer.—Pall everywhere, but rising at places southward of Napier and New Plymouth after from 10 to 16 hours.
Rain is probable in most parts of thj South Island, and there are some indications for rain in the North Island southward of Napier and New Plymouth. Warning signal for westerly gale is exhibited at Capes Campbell, Foulwind and Nugget Point.
