COOPER'S OPERASCOPE.

There was a fair attendance at the Town Hall last night when an entertainment was given by Mr Cooper's Operascope Company. A good programme was submitted and was appreciated by the audience judging by. the frequent outbursts of applause. The pictures comprised a varied series of clear fiims. A particularly fine picture was that depicting Gilbert and Sullivan's comic opera "The Mikado." Additional interest was attached to this picture as the lyrics and musical numbers were reproduced while the scenes were before the audience. The film is a very Ion? one and beautifully coloured. Another good picture was Lewis Carroll's famous pantomime "Alice in Wonderland." A fine assortment of comic pictures were thrown .on the screen. Three of these in particular, "His First Bike Ride," "Jim's Apprenticeship" and "Liquid Electricity," kept the audience in roars of laughter. The coloured films were warmly applauded by the audience, one of the best of this class was "The Butterfly Collector." Among other excellent pictures were "Love Story of Jane Morgan," "Japanese Dancers," "Views in Japan'" and "The Lion Tamer." During the evening Miss Fisher sang "Dreaming Love of You" in fine style. Miss Fisher has a very sweet voice, and her singing was loudly encored. In response she sang"Kiilarney." Mr Hugh Wilson and Miss Fisher wtre seen to advantage in a very amusing and clever sketch entitled "Two of a Kind," which was much appreciated by the audience.

THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT'S PERFORMANCES.

The Company will give a matinee in the Town Hall this afternoon, and for this evening a complete change of programme is announced. Included among the pictures will be "The Girl from Montana," or "Cowboy Life in the Wild West of America," and "Shamus "O'Brien," which is highly spoken of by the Press.
