MR JOHN BURNS BITTERLY ATTACKED. Received March 16, 11.23 p.m. LONDON, March 16. At Socialist meetings at Battersea, on Sunday, the Hon John Burns, President of the Local Government Board, was bitterly attacked. Mr J. T. MacPherson, Labour M.P. for Preston, in a speech at Wereston, declared that Mr Burns' recent speech in the House of Commons, on the Unemployed Workmen's Bill, had sent a thrill of disgust through the House.
