MASTERTON A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING.

The General Committee of the Masterton A. and P. Association met on Saturday afternoon. Present —Messrs J. D. Cruickshank (chairman), D. McGregor, W. H. Buick, O. C. Cooper. R. J. Dagg, C. E. Daniell, R. Grav, JR. Johnstone, W. McKenzie, J.' C. McKiUop, J. B. Moodie, Jos. Morris, H. Morrison, A. J. Percy, Wm. Perry, A. G. Pilmer, Bland Rayrcr and G. Shaw. Mr D. E. Parton wrote asking for the use of the Showgrounds, on behalf of the Masterton Football Club, for the Saturday preceding Easter Monday, to play a match against a Wellington club team. It was decided to accede to the request, the charge for the use of the grounds to be £2. Mr F. S. Hodson, judge of the agricultural section at the recent Show, wrote stating that he was anxious that the Society should accept of the fee due to him in respect of the judging as a donation to the funds of the Association. Mr Hodson stated that he was only too anxious to render any service in his power to the Association. The Committee decided to instruct the Secretary to reply to Mr Hodson thanking him heartily for the donation. The following resignations were conditionally accepted: —Messrs G. W. Thomas, R. McKenzie, W. Tankersley, John Roigard. Hugh Campbell, H. F. Spey, W. Gadsby, C. Woodley, S. H. Ussher, W. L. Wrigley, Thos. Wyeth, G. E. Jackson. Accounts amounting to £1,308 17s 6d were passed for payment, the amount including the show prize-list. At the meeting of the Finance Committee, held in the morning, Messrs G. C. Summerell (chairman), 0. C. Cooper, J. B. Moodie, J. D. Cruickshank, and D. McGregor, jnr., were present. Finances were reported to be as follow:--Receipts from July Ist to date, £2,288 5s lOd; expenditure, £845 9s sd; dr. balance June 30th, 1907, £673 6s 2d; credit balance at date, £958 10s sd. The committee discussed the statement of assets and liabilities presented for the year's work to end of the financial year. The Ground Committee met at noon and instructed the secretary to call for tenders for the grazing rights of the Showgrounds.
