STOCK MARKET.
Messrs Abraham and Williams report on their Eketahuna sale held yesterday as follows:—Stock came forward in excess of advertised numbers, and business under the hammer was animated, a total clearance resulting. The attendance was good, several buyers from a distance operating, good sound wethers and lambs being in demand. We have to report a rise of one and sixpence to two shillings a head for sheep compared to last sale. Mr J P. Lowes' 2-tofcth ewes made 12s 3d and Mr D. Cajjjpff's 2-tooth wethers lis 6d. LitXln rams sold well, good 2tooths making up to sft guineas. Mr F. C. Tumor sold six Southdowns, brpd by himself, at 2 to 3£ guineas, and English Leicesters at 2 guineas. Cattle were in-'poor demand, but we cleared our entry at prices equivalent to those ruling at the larger centres. Two and 4-tooth wethers 12s 6d, 2-tooth wethers lis Id to lis 6d, 2-tocth ewes 12s 3d, aged ewes 7s 2d to 9s 4d, shorn lambs 6s 9d. 2-tooth Lincoln rams 2% guineas to 5J guineas, aged up to 2£ guineas, Southdown rams 2 guineas to 3J guineas, 2-tooth Leicesters 2 guineas, aged half a guinea. Store cows and heifers 20s, IS-month steers 32s to £2.
