Received March 13, 11.15 p.m. SYDNEY, March 13. In the Assembly Mr Wade (Premier), in introducing the Industrial Disputes Bill, said that the present Arbitration Act would expire at the end of June. The new measures proposed to keep up the continuing of awards so far as the present Act is concerned. It provides that after June next all disputes shall be investigated by a tribunal possessing none of the demerits of the present system and all the merits gatherable from other systems. The object of the bill was to have every industry represented; have the tribunal called together without delay; make the presence of a lawyer no longer essential and to make it clear that there was no appeal from an award. THE GLENAHIRA OUTRAGE. THOSE TWO REPORTS. MR BIRRELL EXPLAINS. Received March 13, 7.53 a.m. LONDON, March 12. In the House of Commons, Mr Birrell, Chief Secretary for Ireland, speaking in connection with the Glenahira outrage, declared that Inspector Preston's report of 7th September, was modified into the report of 11th, because the law officers found that it contained suggestions and also matters of fact, some of which had occurred before he arrived on the scene. The second report was prepared and signed without any body's interference or suggestion. Mr Birrell denied that it was altered, and offered to produce the original first report. He added that if both sides wanted a public enquiry regarding the Glenahira outrage, the last thing the Government wished to do was to conceal anything or keep anything back. Mr Redmond gave notice of a motion in favour of a public enquiry into the matter. Irish members and unions support the demand that Inspector Preston's report of the 7th-should be issued. That report states that whoever exploded the bomb did not intend to kill Lord Ashtown or seriously damage the house. THE DEUCE CASE. CHARGE OF PERJURY AGAINST MRS HAMILTON.
