METEOROLOGICAL.
At 9 a.m. yesterday, Captain Edwin issued the following forecast for the subsequent 24 hours: — Wird.---Southerly, moderate to strong at all places northward of Napier and Kawhia; westerly, strong to gale after 16 hours in other parts of the North Island, and earlier thence southward. Barometer. Little movement northward of Napier and Wanganui; fail everywhere else. Rain is probable in the South Island ( generally. Warning signal for westerly gale is exhibited at Capes Campbell, Foulwind, Farewell Spit and Nugget Point.
Mr J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfall registered on the Upper Plain for the previous 24 hours, up to 9 a.m. yesterday, was six points.
