THE NEW HEBRIDES

Received March 12, 10.40 a.m. MELBOURNE, March 12. In the Federal House, Mr Fisher, Labour leader, gave notice of a motion in favour of Federal old age pensions. Mr Deakin. Premier, stated that he understood that the French judge appointed under the New Hebrides Anglo-French agreement had arrived, and that the attention of the Imperial authorities would be called to the necessity of appointing an English judge. Representations as to the control of the islands being removed from Fiji to Sydney were being considered.
