PYKE—EVANS

* JWpretty W2dding tmk place at Fernridge, yesterday, at the residence of the bride's parents, when Miss Elizabeth Mary Evans, second daughter of Mr and Mrs F. Evans, was married to Mr Frederick Pyke, eldest son of Mrs Pyke, of Te Wbiti. The bride's dress was uf acicilan cloth, trimmed with chiffon, and she wore the orthodox veil and orange blossom. Miss N. Pyke and Miss J. Evans, sisters of the bridegroom, and bride, respectively, acted as bridesmaids, and their dresses were of white silk v muslin, trimmed with muslin embroidery and insertionMr W. A. Evans was best man, Mr C. Munn acting as groomsman. The ceremony was performed by the "j£ v - A - T- Tnom P son - A lar £ e num " ML- 0 f very valuable presents were -Ifceived by Mr and Mrs Pyke. The bridegroom presented the bride with a diamond and sapphire bangle, the bride giving the bridegroom a gent's dressing case. The bridesmaids received gold band initial rings. After the ceremony the wedding breakfast was partaken of under a large marquee, a long toast list being honoured. The guests numbered about seventy. The tables were beautifully decked with dahlias and asparagus fern. Ihe honeymoon is to be spent in the South, the bride's travelling dress being a navy blue tailor-made costume.
