In the morning heavy showers fell, but the weather cleared up by noon. The course was in first-class order. Results : Hack Hurdles, 1 mile.— Bushranger, 9.0. 1; Reservoir, 9.9, 2; Royal Blue, 10.6, 3. Scratched— Papatawa and Concussion. Won by four lengths. Time, 3min 22 4-ssec. Makirikiri Hack—Truganini, 7.11, 1; King Post, 8.8, 2; Seaton Dale, 7.11, 3. Scratched Wharekura, Billow, Chrysophrase and Lethean. Won by halt" a length. Time, lmin 15sec. CUP. Waitanu, 7.11 ... 1 San Julie, 7.9 ... 2 Arc Light, 6.7 ... 3 j Scratched—The Lark. From a\ good start Merrie Rose and Chatterer made the running past the stand, followed by Waitapu and San Julie.
