TRANSVAAL MINING INDUSTRY
A COMMISSION'S REPORT.
Received March 11, 8.40 p.m. PRETORIA, March 11. The Mining Industry Commission of the Transvaal recommends the stoppage of the importation of natives from Portuguese territories, the gradual elimination of black labour, and the adoption of the principle of one white man to one machine drill, and eight hours a day. The Commission states that the change does not involve any material increase in the cost of production.
