The revision of the rules was continued. The following is a summary of the chief alterations made Conditions for gold stars to be same as for five-year medals. The following were appointed a sub-committee to inquire into long service medal claims: —The President and Captains Mitchell, Wynn, Jenkins, Holland, Secretary Robbins, and Superintendent Smith.
Amended and new competition rules. —Rule 10 amended to state the pressure of water available, to be included in a draft programme to be published at least two months prior to the demonstration. A new rule passed to forbid any brigade practising on the competition ground within two months prior to competition. (Captain Jenkins pointed out that this would inconvenience Masterton, which had only one ground.) Not less than four judges for any event. Rule 12 amended to constitute seven in. appeal committee to demonstration. New rule to provide that all testing spanners be set to one strain, and sealed before competition commences.
