During the week Messrs Slack Bros., the well-known pedigree stock breeders, received delivery 'from the quarantine fetation, Wellington, of a recently imported large black Devon sow, reserve champion at the Royal Show last year. While in quarantine the sow gave birth to a litter of 17 young ones, and in this connection Messrs Slack Bros, make strong complaint against the authorities. They allege that, owing to the lackof suitable stye accommodation at Somes Island, thirteen of *,he litterwere killed, representing serious loss in the strain and monetary loss of over £SO.
