METEOROLOGICAL.
At 9 a.m. yesterday, Captain Edwin issued the following forecast for the subsequent 24 hours: — Wind. —Northerly; strong to gale at places northward of Wanganui and Napier; easterly, strong to gale thence to Kaikoura and Hokitika, extending southward to Queenstown and Port Chalmers after 16 hours; moderate easterly wind in the southernmost districts. Barometer.—Fall everywhere.
Rain is probable at all places northward of Queenstown and Nugget Point.
Warning signal for northerly gale is exhibited at Cape Maria Van Diemen, Tiritiri, and East Cape, and for easterly gale at Capes Campbell, Foulwind and Farewell Spit.
