Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Masterton stock sale, held yesterday, as follows: More stock came forward than was advertised, and we have to report a slightly better damand for sheep. Competition at auction was fairly animated, and as the majority of vendors owing to fires and "hortaga of feed placed reasonable reserves on their sto<:k we had no difficulty in placing the whole of the catalogue with the exception of a few odd lots of rams, at prices slightly in advance of our last sale. All cattle with the exception ot' one pen of steers met with a ready sale. Prices were, however, in favour of buyers. We quote:—Sheep: Fat and forward ewes 10s to 10s 6d, store ewes 6s 5d to 9s Bd, breeding ewes, sound mouth 6s to 10s, cull ewes 2s 9d to 3s 6d, lambs (best) 9s to 10s, others 5s to 6s 6d, cull lambs 2s 7d to 3s Id, wethers 10s 6d to lis. Cattle: f"at and forward cows £3 lis to £4, cows and calves ,£2 2s, store cows £2 Is to £2 15s, 3 and 4-year-old steers £4 to £4 16s, 2-year old steers £2 to £2 14s, empty heifers 27s 6d to 37s 6d. Messrs Abraham and William. 0 , Ltd., report on their Johnsonville sale as follows:—A fair entry of bullocks of prime quality made up to 21sf best bullocks £8 to £8 7s 6d, others £7 10s to £7 15s; cows £3 15s, £3 2s 6d. A full yarding of sheep, mostly prims quality, sold •well; extra heavy wethers 18s, good wethers 15s 9d to 15s lid, ewes 13s 9d and 13s, light 12s lOd to 13s, lambs 13s 6d to 13s lid, light 10s 6d. We sold a line of dairy cows from £4 10s to £5, rough 30s to £2 10s; trap pony £l4, hack £lO 10s.
