ST. JOHN AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION.
MEETING OF LADIES' DIVISION,
A general meeting of members of the Ladies' Division of St. John Ambulance Association was held in the Dominion Hall last night, a full attendance of members being present.
It was resolved that a Nursing Guild he formed in Masterton, the following officers were appointed ; —Drs. Archer Hosking and H. S. Cowie, hon. surgeons; Miss lady superintendent; Mrs A. J, Parton,first nursing officer; Miss Heyhoe, inspector of stores; Miss McLandress, lady secretary and treasurer. The rules of St. John Ambulance Brigade were adopted for the Masterton Division. Considerable enthusiasm was displayed, and it was resolved to hold regular meetings'of the Guild every third Wednesday, commencing on Wednesday evening, April Ist. The officers of the Guild were appointed a sub-committee to draw up a syllabus for 1908. It was resolved to continue the First Aid Classes and Home Nursing lectures. Ladies wishing to attend these classes are requested to forward their names to Miss Gillespie, Academy buildings, as soon as possible, as the number for the classes is limited. A letter was received from th<* secretary of the Friendly Societies' Council, requesting the co-operation of the Guiid for Hospital Sunday Demonstration on May 3rd. It was unanimouly decided to assist and Mrs E. A. Collier and Miss Gillespie, the two delegates, were appointed to attend the conference. A deputation from the Men's Division waited on the Guild in reference to ambulance matters, and also requested the ladies' assistance for Ambulance Saturday, March 7th. A number of ladies volunteered to assist.
