THE KING'S CONGRATULA- J TIONS. Received March 3, 9.32 p.m. LONDON, March 3. His Majesty King Edward has congratulated General Willcocks on conducting the expedition with so much skill. His Majesty considered the bravery and good conduct of the troops beyond all praise. BEWILDERED AND DEMORALISED. Received March 3, 10.30 p.m. CALCUTTA, March 3. The Zakka Khels state that the swiftness of the British movements bewildered them, and the new tenpounder mountain gun firing smokeless powder demoralised them. The Afridis state that they are sick of fighting, even among themselves. There is some hope of arranging a scheme for terminating intertribal quarrels.
