Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., re- ! port as follows regarding Friday's sale:—We offered a small, quantity of woM in bales and bags, 1,000 skins, 400 hides, and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. There was a good attendance of buyers, particularly for hides, buyers coming from other centres owing to the attractive catalogues we have been offering recently. Wool—Market weak and depressed. We quote—Medium crossbred 4Jd to 6d, inferior crossbred 4d to 4|d, lambs wool 5d to tkl, pieces 2£d to 3|d, locks Id to 2d. SkinsMarket lower again in sympathy with London quotations. We quote —Fine crossbreds s|d to G|d, dead skins 3|d to 4d, medium crossbred 4d to sd, dead hoggets 2Ad to 3Jjd, dry pelts 2d to 3|d, lamb skins 4d to sd, green pelts Is 8d to 2s 4d, green lambs (woolly) Is Sd to 2s 7d, green lamb pelts Is to Is 3d. Tallow—Weaker. Parcels in shipping order £23 10s, tins £ls to £l9, rough fat £l3 to £ls 10s. Horsehair Is to Is 3d per lb. Horns 5s to 17s Gd per hundred. Cowtails Is per dozen. HidesMarket firm for mediums and heavies. Lights tvere slightly easier. We quote—Ox hides, extra heavy, 6d to 6&d, ox hides, heavy, Gd to Ggd, ox ttdes, medium, 5d to s|d, ox hides, light, 4Jd to s|d, cow hides 4d to sd, cut and slippy hides 2d to 4d, stag hides 2Ad to 3|d, bull hides 2d to 3Acl, calf, best, 4d to 4§d, calf, cut and slippy, 2d to 3d. Our next sale will be held on 13th March, 1908. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report as follows—We offered a moderate catalogue of sheepskins and hides, and a few odd lots of wool to a fair attendance of buyers. Sheepskins—ln sympathy with Home markets, and the dulness of the American demands for pelts local prices declined from Jd to Id per lb. For sound pelted, well saved lines of dry skins and butcher's sound green skins ■ there was a good demand, but faulty, inferior and seedy lots were slow of sale. Hides—Competition wan active, and prices for best heavies were firm, rates lor good conditioned medium hides and sound calfskins were if anything higher than at iast - sale, while sloppy and damaged sold irregularly. Wool pieces sold at about last sale rates. We quoteSheepskins—Fine crossbred and halfcrossbred, s£d to 6id; coarse and medium crossbred, 3fd to sfd; dead and damaged, 2d to 4d; broken, inferior and seedy, Id to 2d; dry pelts, IJd to 3£d; green skins and pelts, and green lambs, 9d to 2s 6d. Hides —Ox super, up to Gid; r>x, medium, and light, 4*d to Rfd; cow, 3£d to 4|d; cow, extra heavy, up tos|d; damaged, 2d to4d; calfskins, sound, 3Jd to 4gd; calfskins, damaged, Id to 3d. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., Wellington, report:—We held our usual sale of skins, hides and tallow on Friday, when a good catalogue was submitted to the usual attendance of buyers. Wool and skins . sold at last sale rates. Hides were well competed for, good heavy scrts showing an increase of fd to Jd per lb, and light ones being on a par with last sale prices. We quote as follows:—Wool—Lambs (in bags), 4|d to s£d; flee.e, sd; crossbred, 3£d to A\d; dead. 4Jd.
