MAIL STEAMER IN A FIERCE STORM.

The P. and 0. Royal Mail steamer Victoria, from Australia, had a terrible passage from Gibraltar to Plymouth.
The weather on Friday night was the wildest experienced by the ship's officers.
There was a fierce storm, with sncw and bail.
Terrible seas were experienced in the English Channel.

DEATH OF MARQUIS OF LINLITHGOW.

LONDON, March 2
The Marquis of Linlithgow, whose death was previously reported, died on Saturday afternoon, in ?the presence of his wife and family. The funeral will take place in Scotland on Thursday.
