BOWLING.
The Masterton Bowling Club presented a very gay appearance yesterwhen a large crowd was present to witnpss the Carterton Bowling Club try conclusions with the Masterton representatives for possession of the Booth Cup. Pour teams represented each Club, and the match resulted in Masterton winning by three games to Carterton's one. The'scoring was as follows:—Leach, Roydhcuse, Masson and Bish (Carterton), 17, lost to W. Pragnell, Boagey, Blinklurne and Scott, 19 (Masterton) ; Carpenter, Smith, Prentice and Cochrane, 20 (Masterton) defeated McPhee, lmrie, Lindop and Fisher, 19 (Carterton); Hughan, Canton, Phillpotts and Ramsay, 13 (Carterton), lost to Hunter, Thompson, Cresswell and C. Perry, 15 (Masterton) ; Pepper, Lightfoot, Downard, and White, 23 (Carterton),* defeated Johnston, Hunter, Cameron and Ewington, 15 (Masterton). The Carterton Club also played a game against the Masterton Club, in which two teams from each Club took part. The Masterton team,, comprising Mcintosh, Chamberlain, Mutrie and Townsend, defeated Beale.Letham, Rev Ginger and Booth (Carterton), by 18 points to 16, whilst Reid, Moore, Lindop and Leech (Cartertori) scored 31 against Long, Finlayson, King and Rose's (Masterton) 19. In the Club Handicap Singles match Carpenter secured a narrow victory over Cresswell by one point, the scoras being Carpenter 17, Cresswell 16. s Mrs F. Dupre provided afternoon tea, which was much appreciated by the visitors and Masterton bowlers.
