Land for the Landless.

AUCKLAND, February 27

Under the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1907, provision is made for giving prefei-ence to landless applicants in Crown land ballots. The first aplication of the new Act in Auckland operates in regard to 6,300 acres in the counties of Waitomo, Whakatane, Whangarei, Otomateaand Waitemata. A ballot arranged for today was postponed to March 10th in order that the Land Board may discover which of the applicants are landless and entitled to preference.
