TECHNICAL SCHOOL.

MEETING OF MANAGERS,

A special meeting of Managers of the Masterton Technical School was held last evening. Present—Messrs J. M. Coradine (in the chair), E. H. Waddington and W. H. Jackson. The treasurer reported a debit balance of £l4O 16s. A subscription of £1 Is was received from Mr E. J. Chilton towards the Seddon Memorial Technical School. The following appointments were made for class instruction:—Miss Butement, Pitman's shorthand; Miss M. Johnston, dressmaking; Mr S. Smallwood, plumbing; Mr C. J. Ashton, woodworking; Mr C. N. Haslam, English and civil service; Mr G. R. Irvine, painting, drawing from life, light and shade and general drawing; W. Gardiner, wood-carving. It was resolved to invite applications for instructors in bookkeeping, Gregg's shorthand, typewriting, architectural design and building construction classes. Mr E. J. Chilton's offer for tuition in a class for ornament and design was accepted. The plans and specifications for the Seddon Memorial Technical School were discussod briefly. The specifications were left in the hands of the Chairman and Mr Jackson to finally approve of. It was decided to open the classes on Monday, March 16th. The arrangement of the classes was left until a future meeting.
