THE SCULLING CHAMPIONSHIP.
BY TELEGRAPH —I'KESS ASSOCIATION. WANGANUL February 24. The weather promises to be excellent for the world's sculling championship A o be decided to-morrow. People have been pounng into the town, the main streets of which are crowded to-night. From" what can be gathered from Webb and Tressider the contest should be very exciting. It is known that Webb put up a trial against the watch which if repeated to-morrow must make him the winner. He is in the pink of condition, and his friends are sanguine about his success. Tressider is equally confident. He has done some good work, and his trainer,' who has been intimately acquainted with him during all his athletic career, saya he was never in better fettle, and barring accidents must win. Webb was not out on the river to-day, but Tressider did 'two short rows.
