MANAWATU A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. PALMERSTON N., February 22. The annual meeting of the Manawahi A. and P. Association was held to-day, when the following were elected as officers for the ensuing year:—President, Mr F. Arbon; VicePresidents, Messrs W. T. Wood, E. R. Lancaster, E. Short, T. and J. K. Harkness; treasurer, Mr J. M. Johnston; Committee. Messrs Jacob Luxford, Wheeler, Buchanan, Pratt, Pringle, Aldworth, Lang, Duncan, Jarvis and Davis. The retiring President (Mr W. F. Jacob) in his address, spoke highly of the work done by the committee in forwarding the work of the Association, and urged that in the coming year the members should work hard individually to increase the membership which has, during the past few years, shown a slight falling oft*. He pointed out that the receipts were not up to the mark, while the expenditure was slowly creeping up. The most satisfactory method to cope with this was to increase the membership, and also the donations. Referring to the new dairy school, he said they all hoped to see it established in Palmerston North, and it would do much to increase the importance of the National Dairy Show, which was already one of the most important of its kind in New Zealand.
