WOODVILLE, February 19. Although the sky was overcast all day, the weather was beautifully fine for the first day of the Autumn Meeting of the Woodville Jockey Club. There was one accident, the jockey Mackay, who was about to mount Hydraulic in the County Hack Race, when the horse kicked out and caught Mackay in the breast. He was insen■sible for some time, but after his removal to town he improved, and is now progressing favourably. The sum of £8,754 was put through the totajfesator, as against £5,661 for the corresponding day last year. Three bokmakers were licensed. Results : Maiden.—Contour, W. Price, 1; Kelso 2, First Mate 3. Also started —San Jose, Hippolytus, Teotane, San Lass. Won by a length and aJjalf; good third. Time, lmin 16 1-5 sec. Hack Hurdles. —Playmate (W. Young) 1, Concussion 2, Mount Cook 3. Also started—Papatawa, Royal Blue, Te Kainui, and The Voucher. A good race. Won by a length. Mount Cook close up. Time, 3min 2S3C. Whariti Hack.— Merry Zealand (Pritchard) 1, Seatondale 2, Pearlie '6. Also started—Fulminator, Robin Link,and Lethena. Won comfortably. two lengths between second and third. Time, lmin 30sec.

I WOODVILLE CUP. fioiret (H. Price) 1 King's Lynn f Waipaku 3 Also started—Hipporofla, Nova, Aberration, Kairoma, Kurawaka, Rosegrove. A splendid race. Waipaku led into the straight, when Loiret came through and won by a length. King's Lynn came with a great rmh at the finish, and secured second place. Time, JJinin 8 3-ssec.^ County Hack.— Rangipapa (D. Price) 1, Blue Bell 2, Locliiela 3. Also started—lkon, Greenleaf, Bonny Doon, Cosanir, Gatcnby, Rose Leathe, Oblivion, Brown Belt, Hydraulic. Won all the way by a length. Time, lmin 15sec. President's Handicap.—Gauze (R. Hatch) 1, Ballarat 2, Probability 3. AltJk. started—Silver Shell, Raugihaela, Golden Gate, Elfrida, Scotch Reel. Gauze went away with the lead, and was never headed, winning easily by two lengths. Time, lmin OQ 3-ssgc Victoria Hack.—Somali (W. Price) 1, Ancyle 2, Diplomatic 3. Also started—Clarabelle, Ruabon, Nitchev®, Scenery, Jet de More. Won by a length and a-half. Time, lmin 45 2-ssec. Telephons Handicap.— Sunbonnet (L. Wilson) 1, Oxton 2, Cyrene 3. Also started.—Aboriginal, Chicane, SuDplement, Linkless. Sunbonnet won by half a length in the last few strides. Time, lmin 1 2-ssec. A feature of the racing was the excellent starting of Mr Clas. O'Connor.
