ENGINEERING TRADE DISPUTE.

LONDON, February 18

Eighteen thousand persons engaged in the engineering shops on the north-east coast have accepted the emp oyers' modified reduction of a shilling a week, but of 12,000 members of the Amalgamated Society of Engineers, and the Steam Engine makers and Machine Workers' Societies, 6,140 voted for a strike instead of reduction, and 1,307 against.
