JCARLTON A. v. MASTERTON B. A . -—• ■ The Carlton A and Masterton B teams met on the Park Oval on Saturday afternoon. Carlton won the toss and batted first. They occupied the wickets for two and threequarter hours and put up 327 runs—a record for Wairarapa senoir cricket. Boyd was top scorer with 79. He gave one chance. His score included fourteen 3's, two 4's, a hit for eight, and ■another for six. Ogier (43), Q'Dea (41), Madsen (41), Swan <37) also batted well. The best stand was made by O'Dea and Lett, who added 59 runs to the score. Swan and while together put on 57 runs, and Boyd and E. Welch 45 runs. The Masterton B were weak in bowling. Phillips came out with the { best average, taking seven wickets ' for 88 runs. At the close of play Masterton B had lost four wickets for 31. The following were the scores:— CARLTON A. CARTERTON v. MASTERTON A. The Carterton and Masterton A teams commenced a match at Carterton on Saturday last. Carterton occupied the wickets all the afternoon, and at the close of p'ay had £ nine wickets down for 307. Smart N played a capital innings for 135.
