The Zakha Khels refuse to surrender five outlaws or accede to other British demands.
Major-General Sir Jame3 Willcocks, commanding the British expedition, is trying to prevent the tribesmen from escaping into Afghanistan, and with that object purposes penetrating the Bazar Valley simultaneously by several routes

Major-General Sir J. Willcocks, who is in charge of the British expedition, is advancing with remarkable rapidity, and has already closed the passes at the northern end commanding the Zakha Khel country. The Afridis generally are quiet, and are removing their women and children.
The British force includes a battalion each of the Warwicks, Seaforth Highlanders and Miihstere.
