PERSONAL.

Miss M. P. Grey, daughter of Constable Grey, of Eketahuna, has been appointed sole teacher at the Mangaoronga School. Mr P. Fauvel, senr., of Kaiparoro, intends t.o take a trip to England shortly.

Captain Webster has been appointed to represent the Greytown Fire Brigade at the U.F.B.A. Con ference, at Masterton, next month.

Mr A. F. Robertshaw, manager of the Wellington Piano Company, Ltd., will be in Masterton during Show week, in the interests of the Company. fiThe Rev. E. T. Wynne-Bond and Mrs Bond, of Greytown, will leave by the Moeraki for Sydney, on February 25th, and thence for England by the Ophir, on the 28th inst. Mr Bond expects to be absent in England about eight months. Mr E. Rawson, S.M., was the recipient of another presentation yesterday, when a number of pupils and ex-pupils of his law-class foregathered at the Court House and handed him a handsome case of pipes. Mr 0. Pragnell made the presentation, and expressed the keen regret of the class at their loss of so able and successful a tutor. Mr Pragnell remarked upon the large number of successful students which had pa&sed through Mr Rawson's hands, and said that none but the most cordial relations had ever existed between Mr Rawson and his pupils, who were pleased to be able to tangibly acknowledge the same. He wished Mr and Mrs Rav/son hearty congratulations on Mr Rawson's promotion, and every success in their new sphere. Mr Rawson returned thanks in a brief but earnest speejh, and hoped his expupils, whom he would ever affectionately remember, would make their mark in the legal world.
