The first event for Mr E. Daniel' 3 medal was decided in the Public Baths, last evening, with the following result (the distance was 25 yards) -.—First heat: A. E. Baker, 4sec, 1; J. Winchester, 2sec, [2. Second Heat: A. Donald, 4sec, 1; J. McLean, scYatch, 2. Final: A. E. Baker 1, J. McLean 2; time, 18 4-5 sec.
The following were the officials : Starter, Mr F. Dupre; check starter. Dr. R. V. Hosking; timekeeper, Mr E Dani-jl; judge, Mr S. R. Edwards. The following handicaps have been declared by the club's hon. handicapper (Mr E. Richards): — 40 yards handicap—First heat: S. R. Edwards Bsec, J. Morris 6sec, S. Ball 4sec, J. Winchester 3sec. The 40 yards event will be competed for in the baths at 5.15 o'clock to-night. Competitors are requested to be punctual in attending.
