PROPOSED CHURCH AT MASTERTON.
WELLINGTON, February 11
At the meeting of the Council of the Congregational Union, to-day, the Finance Committee recommended that the Council should recommend the district Committee to take steps at once to begin work at Masterton. Mr Meadowcroft mentioned in conmction with this matter that a site had already been promised by Mrs W. A. Williams, while a certain gentleman had stated his willingness to give £25 towards the erection of a church, provided that seven other similar donations were received.
The Council unanimously adopted the recommendation, and passed a hearty vote of thanks, to Mrs Williams for her generous gift.
