AN AMALGAMATION SCHEME. BY TELEGRAPH MHSSS ASSOCIATION. PAHIATUA, February 10. At a largely attended meeting here •on Saturday;!t Was decided to amalgamate the branches of the New Zealand Farmers' Union in this district, with one central branch at Pahiatua. Mr Fowler, organiser of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, said that he had received about 130 promises from farmers to join the branch and considered the branch would eventually have a membership of about 300. The subscription was fixed on a graduated scale, the minimum being 10s on £2,000 unimproved value, with an increase of Is for every £SOO above that amount.
