The New Zealanders, giving the best display of the tour, beat the Northern Union representative team by three goals and four tries (18 points) to two tries (six points). There waj even play in the first half, and New Zealand led at halftime by five points to three. After twenty minutes of even play in the second, half the New Zealanders scored thrice in rapid succession. The Northern Union team scored just on the call of time.
